.: Common Questions :.

What is a vampyre?
A Vampyre is a person born with a condition that is considered an energy deficiency. The 'vampyre' can sustain its own energy levels by pulling energy from another living source - i.e. another person, plant, animal, elements, etc.

What is the difference between vampyre and vampire?
Some say nothing, some say everything. In essence, it's just a matter of preference. Vampyre is the older spelling. Vampire is the more modern spelling brought 'to life' by Bram Stoker. Some say the 'y' denotes a real vampyre while the 'i' is the fictitious one. Others say that it is the other way around. Again, it's a matter of preference.

Are Vampyres immortal?
No. Vampyres are just as prone to death as the next person. Ram a stake into our chest and we will die...so will any other person who is subjected to the old 'stake thru the heart' routine.

Are Vampyres human?
Yes. The word vampyre does not infer a person who is not human. It is simply a reference to someone who is lacking in energy. We are all human.

Do vampyres drink blood?
Some do, most don't. Those who drink blood don't drink it for the blood itsself. The blood is a direct source of energy and that's why they drink it.

Do vampyres kill their victims?
This is a very bad misconception because vampyres don't have 'victims,' they have donors (people who willingly allow the vampyres to feed from them). There is no killing involved when it comes to a vampyre feeding from a donor.

Are vampyres effected by garlic, sunlight, etc?
No. Most of those 'myths' were brought to life by fictitious books and movies. Sunlight is an issue for the ones who are photosensitive, but they don't burst into flames. They just sunburn easily and quickly or they get bad headaches from the brightness.

Can I be turned into a vampyre?
No. Vampyrism is a condition that a person is born with. It can't be transmitted or recieved by another living being by bite or otherwise. There are no magick spells or rituals that can 'turn' you into a vampyre either. It's a case of 'either you are or you aren't.'

Can a person be a half vampyre and half human?
No. Again, either you're born a vampyre, or you're not.

Were there ever any real immortal vampyres?
There have never been any documented cases of True (Immortal) Vampyres ever existing. Not even Prince Vlad Dracul (Count Dracula) or Countess Erszabet Bathory.

Will the blood of a vampyre turn me into a vampyre?
No. Vampyres often share blood (and other body fluids) with other vampyres and/or mundanes. Another vampyre may get a 'rush' (like a high feeling). A mundane, however, will feel little to nothing and will not 'turn' into a vampyre. Additionally, if a female vampyre becomes pregnant, she shares her blood and other biological processes with the fetus. This does not mean that the child will be born a vampyre nor does it mean that he/she will become a vampyre later in life.

Can an 'elder' vampyre turn me into a vampyre?
Again, it's a matter of being born with the condition. Vampyrism isn't viral, so it can't be transmitted by bite or blood (or any other body fluids).

Will practicing magic(k) for too long, being born with a caul or teeth cause someone to become a vampire.
An energy deficit caused by energy work can mimic some of the symptoms of vampirism and cause the individual to leech from others by accident. Stop all magic(k) and energy work for a few months. The depletion of psychic energy will correct itself. You still won't be a vampire.

Are vampyres genetic mutants/another species/carrying a disease?
No. If they were, doctors all over the world would have discovered the condition by now.

Is there such a thing as the Vampyre Virus: K17, or V5?
Absolutely not. As stated before, vampyrism is a condition that is most closely related to an energy deficiency. There is no viral connection to vampyrism. The 'V5 Virus' part of the plot line for a movie entitled "Ultra Violet". The 'K17 Virus' was the center of the plot for the movie "Reign In Darkness." Both of the movies are works of fiction. You can learn more about V5 by going to this site and K17 by going to this site. Secret Vampire Viruses just do NOT exist.
