More about Mike Letalien: I was born in Centralia, Illinois but spent most of my youth in Hobbs, New Mexico. I lived for a very short while in Casper, Wyoming, before moving to Lubbock, Texas to complete High School. My Grandparents lived just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico while I was growing up and I spent many a day hiking the mountains of Northern New Mexico. My appreciation for the outdoors and interest in the inhabitants and culture of the area is strong, and I return to Santa Fe several times a year even now. I graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock and attended Texas Tech University for more years than I care to remember. Studies focused (at different times) on Music, Architecture, Biology and Journalism. Currently, I pay the bills working as the Information Security Officer at a large county hospital, and someday will return to school to finish up a degree of some sort, but that will have to wait until I have the time to properly devote to the task, as any of you can attest to with little ones at home (see next paragraph). In February of 2002, we were blessed with the arrival of Stephen Alexander Echols Letalien...yes, the same cute little kid you all know from StephenStuph.com. He's a born performer and loves to show off for my camera, so check out his pictures as I have updates pretty often. I have always been interested in photography, mostly as a hobby, and to record memories of the different places I visited. Around 1995 or so, I bought my first "real" camera, and have been shooting as fast as I can focus and shoot ever since. My interests are quite varied (see college education history) so it makes sense that my photographic subjects are as well. I suppose if I had to choose, military aircraft would be my favorite subject, although I enjoy really close shots of flowers, sports action, and just general scenery almost as much.
