DAN WILSON FAREWELL NIGHT
Saturday, April 8 2006 vs. Oakland
The Mariners saluted the 14-year career of Dan Wilson. The ceremony was very emotional for everyone, and Dan received the longest & loudest cheering standing ovation I have heard at Safeco Field. Also receiving a very warm and loud ovation was former Mariner manager Lou Piniella, who spoke at the ceremony.
DANNY, YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!
For those of you that are unaware, Danny decided to retire from MLB at the end of the 2005 season. The decision came as a complete surprise to Dan fans everywhere. I know Dan had his reasons, but he will be sorely missed. It just won’t be the same without him, and the Mariners’ defense will definitely be lacking without ‘Dan The Man’ behind the plate.Mariner fans everywhere wish Dan and his family all the best in their new life.
