  • Dan Wilson was voted by his Mariner teammates to be their team union representative when he first arrived with the club in the winter of 1994. He held that position until he resigned his post in February of 2002.

  • On May 5, 2001, Dan hit his 1st career pinch-hit homerun in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The hit gave the Mariners the lead in the game, which they then won 7-5.

  • On August 8, 1997, Dan Wilson had 20 putouts in one game. Dan is also tied with Bob Kearney for the most putouts in an extra-inning game with 21.

  • At Barrington high School in 1986, Dan led his team to a state title with his 13-0 pitching record and a .470 batting avg.

  • In 1997 Dan ravaged left-handing pitching, hitting .357 (7th in AL) with a .651 slugging% (1st in AL) against lefties.

  • Dan was a pitcher when he enrolled at the University of Minnesota but had to switch to only catching because of a bad skin reaction he would have when icing down his arm after pitching a game.
