Okee, this
here is my little fanfic. It's a continuation, but not a realistic one,
because I know that as creative as my mind can get sometimes, I would never
be able to write a 2nd season that would even come within 10000 metres
of the quality of the original. Actually let’s be honest here. Have you
ever come across an Escaflowne fanfic that even comes close to what
the creators of Escaflowne thought up?
Didn’t think
so. See, I've read hundreds of continuations. Of those hundreds, only a
handful have impressed me because they come close to what might happen
had there been a season 2.
Others I
get greatly disappointed by. Some authors haven't even seen the entire
series, or decide to bend the "esca guidelines" and write tales of yaoi
and yuri when it's clear that none of the characters (err, exception of
the DragonSlayers, maybe) are not homosexual. Some stories depict Celena
falling in love with none other than Dilandau (I mean,
I've heard of vanity, but this is RIDICULOUS!) What really bothers me is
when I read a fanfic and the author has made great errors such as:
-After the
series' end, Hitomi still has possession of her pendant
-Yukari
or some friend of Hitomi's suggest that they go out for a burger or something
like that. BIG mistake. In Japan, red meat is rare, therefore expensive.
A single burger would cost around 25$.
-The names.
Gah, the names. Another one of my pet peeves when it comes to fanfics.
A lot of people introduce new characters in Hitomi's life, but their names
are clearly english (examples: Cody, Tony, Alexa, Katie). Yet Hitomi has
not left Tokyo.
So, to avoid
any little problems, I’m making a parody. It starts off slow, but gets
a little bit "lighter" by Episode 1 (the one after the Pilot ep). It mostly
gives reference to the Sailor Moon series, using esca characters to carry
out the parts a year after the series ended. It's like a normal continuation
but it's not all "boo-hoo, I miss Van, boo-hoo, I miss Hitomi". There are
a few references to that but that is far from what the parody
revolves around.
There will
be about 14-15 chapters. I can't really give an exact time when each will
be uploaded, but most likely every 2 or 3 weeks. I'm terribly sorry for
the inconvenience, and if you're impatient, I have 7 chapters uploaded
so far at a different fanfiction site...
