Escaflowne: human emotions
                        Chapter 3- hatred
Hitomi gasped as one of the guymelef's hands reached out and
grabbed her. Van was so angry at this action that he foolishly drew his
sword and launched himself at the guymelef. Thani laughed. "So the
great
king of Fanelia thinks he can stand against a guymelef?" Thani cried as
he easily threw Van back onto the ground," Thani the successor of the
great Emperor
Dornkirk will not let you have the girl from the mystic moon. She is
ours!"  "Thani," Van spat the name out," it is you who has caused
this!"
Thani laughed triumphantly. "Daisuke take us back to Zaibach," he
smiled," Tory hold the girl. Make sure she does not escape." Turning to
Van he said ,"we will meet again." Then he and the other two guymelefs
vanished into thin air with Hitomi. "No," Van yelled running to the
spot
where they disappeared but it was no
use. Hitomi was gone and Van felt a deep sense of rage boiling inside
of
him.

"What?" Merle gasped as Van told her and the five men the
news.
"Hitomi's gone?" Fear was in all five of the men's faces. One man
stepped
out of the crowd and cried." Thani did this! He is gaining more power!"
Van rolled his eyes. How pathetic they are he thought. He hated Thani.
he hated him for taking Hitomi and for making these men act as scared
wimps. He hated himself more though for letting Hitomi go a second time
and for listening to the fear in these men's voices as they panicked.
He
could feel the hatred seep into his body. He felt like doing something
foolishly brave. Wordlessly he walked out of the castle and up to the
shrine where escaflowne sat and his brother was buried. Next to
escaflowne was a white case and in the case was the energist that he
usedto power escaflowne. Taking the energist out he inserted it into
escaflowne."Lord Van don't do it," Merle said from behind him. Ignoring
her the
hatch to escaflowne opened and van stepped inside before it closed.
"I'm
getting Hitomi back," Van said. "Just what do you plan to do?" Merle
argued," Fly to Zaibach and take ontheir whole army?" She paused" Not
even you Lord Van can survive doingthat."
"Then what do you suggest i do, Merle?" Van asked.

"Hitomi," Akilion whispered softly. "Akilion," hitomi cried.
Looking around she saw she was in a white room where everything felt
peaceful and calm. Everything was a gleaming white except what stood on
a
upraised platform in the middle of the room. A
beautiful beam of blue light connected two circles. One represented
Gaea
and the other Earth.
"What is this place?" Hitomi asked," Is that the balance?" "It is,"
Akilion answered," Beautiful is it not?" The light was a wonderful
shade
of blue that Hitomi was sure nobody on Earth could have ever dreamed
of.
It was undescribable as it hung in
suspended in the air and Hitomi briefly wondered what supported it. It
glowed brightly as it connected the two circles. "It was built shortly
after the Atlanteans migrated to Gaea," Akilion
said,"the Atlanteans made it so that you could see earth and the moon
in
the sky but on earth you could see only the moon and the sun." "Why?"
Hitomi asked. She felt confused by all this. "If the people on earth
knew
there was another planet then they would try to conquer it," Akilion
said," the atlanteans are nonviolent people and
to stop a war between the two planets they created the balance to
conceal
gaea from earth's view." "So what happens if the balance is broken?"
Hitomi asked. "Earth will see gaea and chaos will erupt as war becomes
inevitable
between the two planets and..." Akilion shuddered," the outcome will
surely be horrible." "Wake up girl!" Hitomi gasped as she felt a sharp
sting on her cheek as some strange man slapped her to wake up. He
roughly
forced her to her feet and made her walk. She stumbled a bit for her
legs
did not wish to support her. Either from the lack of rest she was able
to
get or from the fear of where this man was taking her. The man stopped
as
he came to a large metal door. He opened it and shoved her inside
before
locking it so there was no way to
escape. "Get up," a cold voice whispered from inside the room she was
in.
Hitomi stood up and saw a man around her age with dark hair and eyes.
"Hello," he said as a cool smile came upon his lips," my name is
Thani."
