My thoughts on him as Allen Schezar: really good! To tell you the truth, I was a little worried when I heard that he was going to play the part of gentleman Allen Schezar. I had heard him in other roles such as Vegeta, Tiger of the Wind, and Jetstorm, all angry and/or crazed characters, so I was wondering how he would play it out. It turns out that to match his violent rage voice, he has a soft one filled with care and leadership. Sometimes, he can let loose his anger when Allen gets upset about something, and his favourite, as I read in an interview, is to be evil characters. He gives Allen a gentle and sexy voice, perfect for the blonde playboy. He is easily tied for 1st place for the most appropriate voice talent for Escaflowne. (others tied in 1st place: Kirby, Andrew, and Paul).

UPDATE! (05/18/03) - I got the awesome opportunity to meet Mr. Drummond this weekend at the super Anime North! I went to the Meet and Greet with my best friend and we talked to a bunch of VAs from Gundam Wing. Brian was the first one we talked to (mostly because he has become over the years--the above review of his Allen was done a few years ago--he has become my fave VA, Kirby only a smidgen away from tying with him) and on top of that, we got him alone, no other fans for the first bit. We must have talked to him for a good 6-7 minutes *AND I got it on tape*. He's a really nice guy, who can stretch his voice a lot better than you might think. Although I always believed that Allen had the same voice as him, I was proven wrong, finding more reason to admire his work. I had a drawing to give him, but I forgot it during M and G, so I entrusted it to a girl in the autograph line. I hope he got it, but when I asked him in a 3 word question later on Saturday, I highly doubt he remembered me. Ah well. Meeting him and the others inspired me to update this page. Rock on, Mr. D. As long as he does voice work, I will continue to watch. ^_^
